Ireland is set for another freezing night with temperatures dropping as low as -3C and snow flurries in parts of the country on Friday evening.
The unusual April weather is set to last all weekend with hail, sleet and even snow in some parts of the country.
A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Staying chilly for the rest of the day with sunshine and showers, many heavy with hail. Some showers of sleet and a few snow flurries possible as well. Isolated thunderstorms possible, mainly in Ulster and Leinster. Showers dying out later this evening. Highest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees but temperatures dropping as low as 2 or 3 degrees in showers. Moderate to fresh north or northwest breezes.

"Another cold night with frost and ice forming in places along with the chance of fog patches. Showers will become confined to northern and northwestern counties overnight with long dry and clear spells developing elsewhere. Lowest temperatures -3 to 0 degrees with light northwest or variable winds."
The weekend will be much the same with chilly temperatures in the day and frosty nights - but that could all change in just over a week.
As the national forecaster is predicting "tropical air" to arrive later in April with Ireland potentially due some warm weather - although rain could ruin things.
Met Eireann's long range forecast says: "In week 2 low pressure will continue to dominate but there is a signal for some milder tropical air to be introduced over the country, bringing with it above average rainfalls, with the highest amounts in the west and south. It will be milder and cloudy with above average temperatures and night frosts unlikely.
"Into week 3 we will still be in a low pressure dominance, with milder tropical air remaining over the country, with slightly above average rainfall and temperatures expected. Looks to remain fairly cloudy with rain at times but indications are that extreme events are unlikely."
