Ireland is set to see a return of glorious sunshine this week as a mass of warm air spreads across the country.
Met Eireann has forecast the east and southeast to see the best of the conditions, with temperatures reaching highs of 24C on Sunday.
Things will remain warm over the coming days before the heat increases, just in time for the weekend.
A forecaster said: “Just 14c with some showers in the Northwest but up to 20c in the Southeast and East with 19c in the midlands. Some sunny spells in the South and East also. Head East for the sun and heat!”
They added: “A reminder once again that there is no promised heatwave this week! The weather is improving and temperatures will increase but it will be the weekend before many have a chance of any decent sunshine.”
