Ireland weather: Met Eireann forecast weather 'chaos' as 'thundery bursts' hurl through the country

Ireland is set to see miserable conditions over the coming days as bands of heavy rain and thundery bursts spread across the country.

Met Eireann has forecast the country's northern half to see the worst of the conditions as showers become more frequent.

Things are looking up for tomorrow. However, scattered showers will develop and will be heavy in places as we enter into evening.

A forecaster said: "People asking about La Niña and possible impacts and MJO phases, NAO forecast and other signals that can be mentioned in long range forecasts. Simply these all can influence our weather here in Ireland but long range forecasts remain very poor. In other words it's wait and see".
