Ireland experienced very mild temperatures for October over the weekend with temperatures rising to nearly 20C in some parts of the country.
Met Eireann's synoptic weather station in Dublin's Phoenix Park reached a maximum air temperature of 18.2C on Sunday, while other counties reached over 17C.

This is despite heavy downpours across the country with a yellow thunderstorm warning in place for several counties on Sunday.
It is set to remain rather mild this week with highest temperatures reaching 17C on Thursday however, there are more heavy showers on the way with a risk of heavy rain Tuesday night with some thundery showers.
Monday morning will see any mist and fog clearing into sunny spells in places but scattered showers will spread across the country, with the north and west most at risk of downpours.

Today, October 24
Any residual mist, fog and low cloud will clear during the morning leaving sunny spells and scattered showers, some will turn heavy at times in the north and west. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees in moderate west to southwest winds.
Tonight, showers will generally become confined to western coastal counties overnight while the best of the clear spells will be in the east, but cloud will increase towards morning. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees in light to moderate southerly breezes.
Tuesday, October 25
Fairly cloudy with scattered showers extending from the south and turning heavy at times, although there will be some hazy sunny spells at times. Persistent and at times heavy rain will spread from the south later in the afternoon and through the evening. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees in moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds.
Tuesday night will be a windy night with rain clearing to showers early on, some will turn heavy or thundery at times. Mild with lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees, becoming blustery too with fresh to strong and gusty southerly winds developing.
Wednesday, October 26
Blustery with scattered showers, extending across the country but remaining most frequent in the west, with the best of the longer dry and sunny spells in the east. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees in moderate to fresh and gusty southwest winds.
Becoming mostly dry early on on Wednesday night with long clear spells. Cloud will build from the south as the night progresses with further showers developing on western and southern coasts towards morning. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees in light to moderate southerly breezes.
Thursday, October 27
Cloudy with outbreaks of rain along southern and western coasts with more persistent rain extending from the south through the afternoon and evening. Very mild with highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in moderate south to southeasterly winds.
On Thursday night, rain will clear all but the northwest early in the night with dry clear spells developing elsewhere. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees in moderate to fresh southerly winds.
Friday, October 28
After a bright and mostly dry start, cloud will thicken through the afternoon with rain following later in the afternoon extending over though the south of the country through the evening. Highest temperatures of 13 to 15 in light to moderate southerly or variable winds.
