Met Eireann has forecast a few more heavy downpours for a number of counties this week before a very welcome change heading toward the month of November.
It will come as quite a shock that Irish forecasters are predicting warmer conditions on the usually frosty first week of November as the current bout of low pressure becomes “less dominant.”
This evening, showers will become mostly confined to Atlantic coastal counties - continuing overnight - with the best of the clear spells will be in the east.

Cloud cover will build in from the west towards morning and lowest temperatures will drop to 7C in some areas.
Tuesday morning will bring more scattered showers extending from the south - some of which will be heavy.
There will also be hazy sunny spells before cloud cover increases and brings persistent and heavy rain which will spread from the south later in the afternoon and through the evening.
Wednesday will be blustery with rain showers, extending across the country - but these are due to remain most frequent in the west - with the best of the longer dry and sunny spells in the east.
It’ll be another cloudy day on Thursday with outbreaks of rain along southern and western coasts - with more persistent rain extending from the south through the afternoon and evening.
While Friday will be bright and mostly dry to start, cloud will thicken through the afternoon with rain following later in the afternoon extending over the south of the country through the evening.
Despite the washout week ahead for most, the current weather system will “steer up warm, unstable air, which will likely lead to above average temperatures" however it will also mean rainfall will be "heavy at times,” according to Met Eireann.
Then from Bank Holiday Monday (October 31), “low pressure looks to not be as influential over our weather.”
It goes on to say “Temperatures will still likely be above average for the time of year”, while the first week of November shows promising signs of sunshine nationwide.
