Ireland is set to bask in some much-needed sun over the weekend before a dramatic U-turn within days.
Met Eireann is forecasting temperatures of 19C and 20C until Sunday, with unsettled conditions returning from Monday.
It comes as expert Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather added: "Time to dig out that sun cream, plenty of sunshine over Friday and the weekend."

According to a Met Eireann forecaster, Friday will be a sunny day with highest temperatures of 13C in the north to 19C in the south in light to moderate northwesterly winds.
It will stay dry and largely clear on Friday night, although it will be cloudier at times over Ulster, with lowest temperatures of 5 to 8C in a light northerly breeze.
They continued: "Dry and sunny on Saturday. Highest temperatures of 14 to 20C, the lower values in the north, the higher in the south, with light to moderate northerly winds.
"Staying dry and clear Saturday night with lowest temperatures of 5 to 9C in a light to moderate northerly breeze.
"Staying mostly dry and sunny through Sunday, there is the chance of a light shower in the north and east. Highest temperatures of 14 to 19C, once again it will be cooler in north Ulster in moderate northeasterly winds.
"Becoming cloudier overnight Sunday night with lowest temperatures of 5 to 9C in a light northerly breeze.
"A cooler, cloudier day on Monday with scattered light showers. Highest temperatures of 11 to 15C in a light to moderate northerly breeze, with lowest temperatures on Monday night of 5 to 8C once again.
"Marginally higher temperatures on Tuesday, it'll be a rather cloudy day with light winds and scattered showers.
"Current indications suggest that there'll be further showers in the mid-week period, with light winds and temperatures about average for the time of year."
