Met Eireann has pinpointed the return of good old Irish weather as rain and thunder are expected to take over later this week.
Tuesday will continue to be very warm over the eastern half of the country with highest temperatures of 28 degrees - however, there is a 15% chance of thunderstorms for others.
It will be cooler and fresher elsewhere as well with highs of 16 to 22 degrees and it will be a cloudier day overall with the best of any sunny spells in the east.

Showery rain will push into the west during the morning, spreading eastwards through the day with an isolated thundery burst possible. Light winds will increase moderate to fresh northwesterly with the rain.
More generally this week, the Irish forecaster says: “Temperatures will return to normal from Wednesday onwards with a fair amount of dry weather and a few showers for the rest of the work week. Turning wetter than over the weekend.”
Wednesday will see a mix of cloud and sunny spells and some scattered light showers during the morning becoming mostly confined to western fringes during the afternoon.
Highest temperatures will reach 20 degrees, and will be warmest in the southeast in mostly moderate northwest winds, fresh along Atlantic coasts.
On Thursday things will become mostly cloudy during the morning with patchy outbreaks of rain and drizzle extending from the Atlantic to western parts later in the day.
Highs of 19 degrees are expected and will be coolest in the northwest with light variable breezes falling calm at times.
Rain will arrive in the east on Friday but will clear through the morning, with a mix of sunny spells and a few showers following from the west.
Highest temperatures will range from about 16 to 21 degrees in light northerly breezes.
As for the weekend ahead, “At the moment indications are that next weekend will become more unsettled with rain moving in from the southwest on Saturday evening and with further rain or showers on Sunday, it will be mild though with highs in the high teens to low twenties.”
