Ireland striker set to move - with interest from several leagues around Europe

Ireland striker Amber Barrett could be on the move to the Women’s Super League this summer.

Barrett, who featured in Monday’s 9-0 World Cup win against Georgia is out of contract at Bundesliga side FC Koln - and has rejected a new deal with the German side.

The Donegal native has a big decision to make, with plenty of interest coming from other Bundesliga sides, as well as clubs in the English top-flight and in Switzerland.

Barrett has been with Koln ever since her 2019 move from Peamount United - and has played in both the first and second tiers of German football.

Last season she helped Koln consolidate their Bundesliga status.

Meanwhile, Ireland goalkeeper Naoisha McAloon has extended her contract at Championship side Durham.

McAloon is another former Peamount player and she earned her first senior international call-up for the training camp in Turkey and the qualifier in Georgia.
