With increased temperatures and sunny conditions forecasted for this weekend and next week, the best swimming spot in Ireland and the UK has been revealed.
Ocean Bottle carried out research on water quality before cross-referencing Google ratings and reviews into consideration.
They took water samples from over 800 waterways across Ireland and the UK to find out the cleanest and safest spots to swim.

Keem Beach in Achill Island, Mayo received the highest Google rating and reviews.
The survey found that 6 spots were in Ireland. Trá an Dóilín in Galway ranked number 6 with Dooey Beach in Donegal also making the top 10 at number 9. Curracloe beach which was used for the filming of Brooklyn and Saving Private Ryan ranked number 12 while Dog’s Bay in Galway came in at number 13 followed by Enniscrone Beach in Sligo at number 14.
In an effort to find quieter spots to swim while maintaining the best quality of water, Ocean Bottle revealed that an Irish spot came out on top once again in the top 20 swimming “hidden gems” across Ireland and the UK. 11 out of 20 were in Ireland.
Aillebrack Beach in Galway took the top spot at number 1 while Tránaun Beach in Mayo came in at number 6.
