Ireland left fuming as laser aimed at Gavin Bazunu during penalty against Greece

Ireland fans were left fuming as Gavin Bazunu had a laser pointed at him during Greece's penalty in Friday's clash.

The Southampton shot-stopper could not prevent Anastasios Bakasetas from scoring from the spot after Callum O'Dowda was deemed to handle the ball in the box.

But in the build-up to the spot kick it was clear on TV that Bazunu had a laser being pointed at him.

And it was not the only time with a laser also making an appearance with the Ireland team clearly targetted during their pre-match huddle and could be seen at multiple times during the game.

Repeated announcements were made over the public address system after Irish players and even the referee were targeted with laser pens from the stands.

Ireland fans took to social media to blast lasers being pointed at Bazunu.

One person said: "A laser being shone in Bazunu's eyes as he prepared stood to face the penalty should surely have been acted on?"

While another said: "Scumbags shining lasers at the Ireland players since the very beginning of the match. Could see them plain as day on Bazunu before the penalty was taken!"

And another said: "Bazunu having a laser shone in his face as the penalty is being taken. Scum."

Ireland would go on to equalise 14 minutes later as Nathan Collins fired in from close range.
