Regular hosts of the popular breakfast show Ireland AM, Alan Hughes and Tommy Bowe, took this morning off and Anton Savage stepped up to present along side Muireann O'Connell.
Anton was thrown straight in with a busy show which included interviewing sports broadcaster Lee McKenzie, as well as catching up on last night's "I'm a Celeb".
Anton, who once had a morning radio show on Today FM, is no stranger to hosting the Virgin Media breakfast show, having filled in on many occasions in the past. He admits, however, to hating the early starts in the morning.

The Newstalk presenter previously opened up about presenting the popular morning show. In a previous interview with RSVP Live, he said: "I have a long relationship with Ireland AM. There was a brief period where I hosted a 30 minute current affairs show before the main show and I recorded it in front of a blue screen.
He added: "I filled in for Mark Cagney for six months when he was gone for an operation and I regularly drop when there is a need for a replacement. I hope that will continue, I get on very well with the guys.
"I wasn’t roaring that I missed the opportunity to get up at 3.30am. "
Viewers were delighted to see Anton return to their screens, and even called from him to remain on the show full-time. One person said: "Keep Anton, he's the best presenter you have."
Another added: "Great seeing Anton this morning." While someone wrote: "Might watch today now that Anton is presenting."
