Ireland AM star Muireann O'Connell has said that she was heartbreakingly trolled online after her dad's death.
On a recent episode of her podcast, the Virgin Media presenter opened up about the online hate she received after her dad's funeral and the following months. On the show, Muireann told co-host Emma Doran on their And Another Thing! podcast that she was with her beloved mum when she received hate for the way she acted after her father passed away.
Muireann explained: "It was the middle of Covid, with miserable weather, all that stuff and I remember like three messages vividly in my head about how I was a disgrace and I didn't know how to grieve properly and that my father would be ashamed of me.

"Because we were trying to have a bit of a laugh and trying to find something that was funny in life. Like I was sitting in his chair and we'd be watching The Chase or something going 'This is what he'd do right now' or whatever," she said.
Muireann expressed her "shock" after other people judged her in the wake of her dad's death. She said: "I swear to god, the judgement of people when you're trying to find a bit of fun around when someone's died. You got to find the fun.
"You don't know what's going on at home. If they're just having a laugh, let him because they're probably crying themselves to sleep every night," she added.
She was back on air with co-stars Alan Hughes and Katja Mia on Wednesday, with fans going wild for her stylish black and white dress. The sleek dress had a large collar that had beads all up the front and around the waist, with white arms while the bodice was black.
To complete the look, Muireann paired the dress with black heels and silver jewellery. The dress is from Seagreen and it is available on the website for €300.
Muireann shared a photo of herself on the Ireland AM set, writing on Instagram: "Work outfit or life outfit, all about the sleeves today. Dress: @queensofarchive from @seagreen.ie. Platforms: @primark. Jumper: @missshesgotknits.
"[Photo emoji] by the wonderful @katja_miaa. Thank you @emmamahonyfreelance for getting my hair into a bun today. It’s been a while."
