Ireland ace Fahey becomes third player to reach 100 appearances for Liverpool

Niamh Fahey has spoken of her pride at becoming just the third player to reach 100 appearances for Liverpool.

The Ireland international reached the landmark in Sunday’s 2-0 Women’s Super League win over West Ham.

Liverpool’s current captain joins teammate Ashley Hodson and former skipper Gemma Bonner in hitting treble figures in the modern era.

Fahey said: “It was a great performance from everyone, and getting the clean sheet on my 100th appearance for the club tops it all off.

“It was a massive day for me, making 100 appearances for this fantastic club I love and it makes me very proud.

“And to do it in front of our own supporters at Prenton Park makes it even more special.

“I have joined an exclusive club and it really is a privilege to join those two girls in Ashley and Gemma in making 100 appearances for Liverpool.”

Fahey could move to 101 appearances on Wednesday night when the Reds host Manchester City in their final Continental League Cup group game (7pm).
