Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei recently made a statement regarding the Hamas-led attacks that took place on October 7 last year. Khamenei expressed that these attacks had a significant impact on the Zionist regime (Israel), setting it back by 70 years. This statement was conveyed in a Hebrew-language post sent at 6:29 a.m. Israel time, coinciding with the exact time the attacks commenced a year ago.
Simultaneously, the Israeli military also marked the anniversary of the attacks by acknowledging that the country's history was forever changed on that day. Khamenei further commemorated the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah during a rare sermon in Tehran, where he praised the Hamas-led attack and deemed it as 'legitimate.'
Hamas and Hezbollah are recognized as part of Iran's 'Axis of Resistance,' a coalition of Islamist militant groups that extends across Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, and Yemen. Khamenei's remarks underscore the ongoing tensions and conflicts within the region, highlighting the complex dynamics between various factions and nations.
