'Iranian Hulk' claims he punches so hard he struggles to sleep ahead of boxing debut

'Iranian Hulk' Sajad Gharibi has admitted he often struggles to sleep due to the pain he inflicts on himself by throwing power punches.

Gharibi is preparing to face 'Scariest Man on the Planet' Martyn Ford in a bumper exhibition which will be staged in the UK in April.

His 'Iranian Hulk' nickname comes from his remarkable and powerful frame weighing approximately 177k while his opponent Ford stands seven-feet tall.

The Iranian star has released footage from his training as he steps up his preparations for the event.

The footage was released on his Instagram video where he admitted his own power, captioned : "I have nothing to lose. When no one has anything to lose, this is very dangerous. Can't wait to FIGHT.

"The severity of the blows is so high that I sleep with severe pain. All exercises in this month include impact tolerance and the force of the blows. For the reputation of Iran, the neighbouring chicken is always a goose.

"In this war, I am alone, there is no problem. It does not matter if the officials did not sponsor the big historical competition.

"The important thing is that my dear people are by my side and I will do my best for the love of the nation."

The event will take place on a Boxstar Celebrity Boxing card that will be held at O2 Arena in London, and is expected to attract interest of fans of celebrity exhibitions.

Footage had earlier been released of the Iranian taking on four sparring partners, in a bizarre video which resembled a combination of boxing and clinching.

Fans then questioned his boxing technique ahead of the clash and many suggested they now expect the Iranian star to be "smashed" by his counterpart in the ring.

His opponent Ford is well known publicly for his starring acting roles in Fast & Furious 9 and Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

Who will win in April- The 'Iranian Hulk' or Martyn Ford? Let us know in the comments section below

Ford similarly to Gharibi has no prior experience fighting in the boxing ring but the British star has a deep background training in mixed martial-arts.

A rivalry exists between the pair after they planned to meet while Ford signed a deal with Polish MMA promotion KSW.

However a bout never materialised although the pair have finally agreed to settle their differences later this year.

The 'Iranian Hulk's' opponent has claimed their rivalry is "personal" and has encouraged fans to come in their numbers as he takes on his fellow strongman.

"The London O2 is booked. I would absolutely love to put on an event you guys will never forget," he wrote on Instagram.

"This to me is very personal. Things have been said that can't be taken back, by numerous people in his circle.

"I can't promise you the most technical fight in the world but I will promise you that I will bring my absolute everything and turn this into an event you will never forget."
