Iran Warns Of Broader Strikes If Israel Responds To Attack

Israel's security forces face questions after hamas Attack.

Iran's military chief, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, stated that the recent missile attack launched by Iran was limited to military targets. However, he issued a warning of potential broader strikes if Israel were to respond to the attack. Bagheri revealed that Iran had targeted military infrastructure, including the Mossad intelligence agency, the Nevatim Air Base, Hatzor Air Base, radar installations, and groupings of Israeli tanks. Despite having the capability to launch a more extensive attack, Iran chose to focus solely on military bases.

Bagheri emphasized that if Israel takes action against Iran, they will not hesitate to target all of Israel's infrastructure. The military strikes against Israel were carried out in retaliation for the assassinations of Ismail Haniyeh, Hassan Nasrallah, and Abbas Nilforoushan. Nasrallah, the leader of the Iran-backed Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on his underground headquarters in Beirut. Nilforoushan, a senior commander from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was also killed in the same attack.

Hamas political leader Haniyeh was assassinated in Tehran using an explosive device hidden in the guesthouse where he was staying. The Iranian government and Hamas have accused Israel of carrying out the assassination. Bagheri mentioned that Iran had shown restraint following Haniyeh's assassination due to requests from the Americans and Europeans to establish a ceasefire in Gaza. However, the situation became intolerable after the deaths of Nasrallah and Nilforoushan.
