Iran's President And Foreign Minister Presumed Dead In Helicopter Crash

Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov and Serbian Foreign Minister Dacic meet in Moscow

Tragedy struck in Iran as the President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian are presumed dead following a helicopter crash. State media outlets reported that there were 'no survivors' found at the crash site, where the helicopter carrying the two officials and seven others went down.

The drone footage captured by the Red Crescent and shared on state media revealed the grim scene of the crash site located on a steep, wooded hillside. The wreckage of the helicopter, mostly destroyed, displayed only a blue and white tail, indicating the severity of the crash.

While there has been no official confirmation of their deaths, an unnamed Iranian official mentioned in the news agency report expressed fears that all passengers on board the helicopter may have perished in the tragic incident.

The loss of President Raisi and Foreign Minister Abdollahian, along with other senior officials, has sent shockwaves through Iran and the international community. Both leaders played significant roles in Iran's political landscape and foreign relations, making their potential loss a major blow to the country.

As the nation awaits further updates and official statements regarding the fate of those on board the ill-fated helicopter, condolences and prayers pour in for the victims and their families during this difficult time of uncertainty and mourning.
