Iran's foreign ministry has denied reports of a meeting between the Iranian ambassador to the United Nations and Elon Musk, the world's wealthiest person and a close ally of US President-elect Donald Trump. The denial came in response to claims made by a well-known American newspaper, which cited two Iranian officials.
The alleged meeting was said to have taken place earlier in the week at a secret location in New York. According to the Iranian officials, the discussion between Musk and Iran's envoy focused on how to defuse tensions between the two countries and reportedly lasted over an hour.
However, Iran's foreign ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, categorically denied the occurrence of any such meeting. The ministry expressed surprise at the coverage in US media and refuted the claims made by the Iranian officials.
Following the conflicting reports, efforts have been made to seek confirmation from Musk, Trump's transition team, and the Iranian mission at the UN regarding the alleged meeting. As of now, there has been no official confirmation or statement from any of the parties involved.
