Ruben Amorim leads Manchester United out for the first time when they take on Ipswich on Sunday, and we’ve got the latest in regards to team news and predicted lineups, as well as a score prediction alongside our preview.
Ipswich vs Manchester United Preview
Ruben Amorim will take charge of Manchester United for the first time when they take on Ipswich at Portman Road on Sunday evening, where the Red Devils will be aiming to extend their unbeaten run to five straight matches.
Since parting ways with Erik ten Hag after suffering defeat to West Ham at the end of October, United have won three and drawn one, most recently defeating Leicester City 3-0 in the league.
That win left the Red Devils in 13th place heading into the international window, and a win over the Tractor Boys in Suffolk could lift them as high as ninth if other results go in their favour.
Amorim is expected to make wholesale changes to the United lineup, with many tipping that the Portuguese will opt for his preferred 3-4-3/3-4-2-1 formation right off the bat.

As for Ipswich, they secured their first league victory of the campaign prior to the internationals, impressively overcoming Tottenham 2-1 away from home, which followed a 1-1 draw against Leicester the week prior.
Kieran McKenna’s side are currently in 17th place in the table, just a point clear of Crystal Palace in the relegation zone, while they are two points behind the aforementioned Foxes and Everton in 15th and 16th.
Sunday’s meeting will be the first time Manchester United and Ipswich have met since their EFL Cup third round clash in 2015, where the Red Devils claimed a 3-0 win thanks to goals from Anthony Martial, Andreas Pereira and Wayne Rooney.
Ipswich Team News
The hosts are without Chiedozie Ogbene (Achilles) and Janoi Donacien (ankle) due to their respective injury concerns, while Jacob Greaves (thigh), Wes Burns (knock), Nathan Broadhead (groin) and Jack Taylor (fitness) are doubts.
Coming into the squad, available for selection after serving his one-game suspension last time out, is Manchester City loanee Kalvin Phillips.
Whether Phillips is able to force his way back into the lineup remains to be seen however, with both Sam Morsy and Jens Cajuste impressing as the Tractor Boys’ midfield pairing in the 2-1 win over Tottenham last time out.
Manchester United Team News
As for the Red Devils, Victor Lindelof (groin), Luke Shaw (calf), Harry Maguire (calf) and Kobbie Mainoo (muscular) are all expected to miss out on the trip to Portman Road.
Lisandro Martinez (back) is also a doubt after being sent home early from international duty, while there could be a return to the matchday squad for Tyrell Malacia after close to a year and a half out.
Summer signing Leny Yoro could also make his United bow in Suffolk at the weekend, with reports suggesting that the 19-year-old is fully fit after recovering from a fractured foot.

Like the UK’s best football betting sites, we at SportsCasting are heavily favouring Manchester United to come out on top at Portman Road on Sunday evening.
The Red Devils were in top form prior to the international window, their best form of the campaign, and despite Ipswich’s impressive win in Gameweek 11, we can only envisage the Amorim era getting underway with a victory.
