Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna is likely to run the rule over defender Matt Penney to assess his options, following a successful six-month loan spell at Motherwell.
The 24-year-old has impressed at Fir Park and won two player of the month awards at Motherwell.
However, his loan spell ended after the 1-1 draw with Ross County on Saturday and he is believed to be assessing his options.
That could mean trying to break through to the first team at Ipswich, a loan period elsewhere, or returning to Motherwell for the rest of this season.
Penney's contract at Portman Road expires in the summer, but Ipswich have the option to sign him for a further year.
