Ipswich Town FC teen Cameron Stewart gets on the goal trail for Under 23s

County Antrim teenager Cameron Stewart's burgeoning reputation continues to grow after the defender scored a brace for Ipswich Town Under 23s on Monday.

The Northern Ireland youth international's impressive double helped his side beat Watford 3-0 at Playford Road.

Stewart was also on target in a win over Millwall the previous week, making it three goals in two games for the centre-half.

Stewart headed home to give Ipswich the lead against Watford and then added the second just after the restart courtesy of another headed finish.

Tyreece Simpson got Ipswich's third goal to wrap up a comfortable win in the Professional Development League Two South fixture.

Ballymena teen Stewart has impressed since joining Ipswich back in back in 2019, and last summer he signed his first professional contract with the club.

Speaking at the time, he said it was a "proud moment" for his family.

He said: “It was a really proud moment for my family and me.

"I’ve always dreamed about being a professional footballer from a kid and a I’ve put in a lot of hard to work to get here.”

He added: “Playing for Northern Ireland senior team has always been my aim.

"It’s great to see players like Sam getting a chance at a young age and gives you belief you can too.”
