HYDERABAD: After the home team Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians arrived here on April 17 for their IPL match, MI batter Tilak Varma, who hails from Hyderabad, hosted a dinner for his teammates at his house, including the team's mentor and batting legend Sachin Tendulkar. The next day Varma played a key role in Mumbai's 14-run win by scoring a brisk 37.
“Honoured to host my Mumbai Indians family at my home for dinner. A wonderful night that my family and I won’t forget. Thank you for coming,” Tilak Varma had tweeted on April 17.

The Varmas also gifted a miniature of Charminar as a souvenir.
“Always special to play in Hyderabad,” the cricketer said in a social media post on Wednesday, the morning after MI beat the Sunrisers at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal.

The match was special for the Tendulkars, as son Arjun, who is a fast bowler, made his father proud by taking his maiden IPL wicket.
