JAIPUR: Abdul Samad spoiled Rajasthan Royals party by hitting a last-ball six to guide Sunrisers Hyderabad to a 4-wicket victory at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium here on Sunday. Bottom-placed SRH halted their losing sequence by chasing a daunting target of 215 with a sensational late burst. Abdul Samad struck a match-winning 17 off just 7 balls to give his team the much-needed win. The Jammu youngster slammed a six at long-on when 4 runs were needed from the final ball.

It was the third consecutive defeat for the Royals as they remained on 10 points after 11 matches, while SRH registered their fourth win in the competition from 10 ties.
Sandeep Sharma was again given the charge to bowl the last over when SRH needed 17. Samad scored 2 on the first ball and then clobbered a six to long-on. The 21-year-old then ran 2 to bring the target to 7 off 3. SRH needed 5 off the last ball but Sandeep bowled a no-ball even as RR players started celebrating when Jos Buttler took Samad's catch at long-off. Now SRH needed 4 from the last ball and Samad displayed his power hitting.
Earlier, bouncing back in style after a humiliating nine-wicket defeat against Gujarat Titans in the earlier match, Rajasthan Royals amassed 214 for two against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium here on Sunday.
The mainstay of Rajasthan Royals batting - Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson - finally regained their touch, cracking excellent half-centuries. Both Buttler and Samson were struggling for form but made up for the earlier failures with a show of smart batting to entertain the holiday crowd here.
The Royals maintained their 10-run per-over average throughout the innings to pile up the highest total at the SMS Stadium, surpassing 202/5 against Chennai Super Kings on April 27.
Buttler was unlucky to miss his century by a whisker as he departed for 95 in the penultimate over of the match. The opener's knock came off 59 balls and laid the solid foundation for RR.
The seasoned campaigner hammered 10 fours and four sixes during his spectacular innings. Buttler and Samson added 138 runs off 81 balls for the second wicket to frustrate SRH. Samson played a captain's knock and ensured his team posted a 200-plus total.
Samson remained unbeaten on 66 off 38 balls. He finished the innings with a six and four against Natarajan in the final over. Samson's knock was an answer to his critics who blamed his slow batting in the earlier ties.
Earlier, Yashasvi Jaiswal attacked from the go, lifting the ball the first ball over mid-on which went just over the outstretched hands of Samad. The in-form youngster again fetched a boundary pulling Bhuvneshwar towards fine leg.
Buttler joined the party in the next over, flicking off his pads against Marco Jansen to launch his innings. Yashasvi wrapped up the second over hoisting Jansen to the mid-wicket fence as RR raced to 26-0.
