iPad Pro 2024: Design and display
The biggest visible change is going to be to that panel, as Apple is adopting not just one OLED display, but two in tandem called Ultra Retina XDR.
OLED screen technology is a significant improvement on the current mini-LED tech in the 12.9-inch model, and is available on both the 11- and 13-inch models. These displays are capable of a 1,000 nit peak brightness in standard use (1,600 for HDR), a 120Hz refresh rate, and better color accuracy.
You should also see an improvement to battery life too, as OLED turns off the pixels that are dark for true blacks.
iPad Pro 2024: Specs
Inside, you'll find that Apple has leapfrogged M3 and packed this with an M4 chipset. This second-generatipn 3nm chipset packs up to a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, making it 50% faster than M2 at CPU tasks, and up to 4X more powerful at GPU work.
On top of this, you're getting everything we love about M3, including ProRes and AV1 support and hardware-accelerated ray tracing. Plus, that new generation Neural Engine is capable of big things with upgrades allowing it to run 38 trillion operations per second (TOPS). That puts even the Intel Core Ultra in its place
