iPad Air 2024: Specs
iPad Air 2024: Design and colors
The iPad Air 2024 offers a similar look but there's a few key design differences versus the previous model. The biggest is that there's now a landscape webcam, which will make it easier to make video calls when you're using the iPad Air in laptop mode with the Magic Keyboard.
In addition, you get landscape stereo audio speakers, as well as a Touch ID button for logging in. The iPad Air comes in four colors, including purple, blue, space gray and starlight.
iPad Air 2024: Performance
The iPad Air 2024 features Apple's M2 chip, which Apple says is 50% faster than the iPad Air with M1 chip. And you can expect up to 3x faster performance versus the older iPad Air with A12 Bionic chip.
In addition, the new iPad Air features faster Wi-Fi 6E along with 5G connectivity and 128GB of storage (with a max of 1TB).
The M2 chip can play graphically intensive games like Assassin's Creed Mirage and it can handle AI tasks like Visual Lookup and Subject Lift in iPadOS. Plus, you can automatically enhance your pics in less time using apps like Photomator.
iPad Air 2024: Accessories
The iPad Air works with the new Apple Pencil Pro ($129) for the regular Apple Pencil USB-C ($79). And you can add a Magic Keyboard for $299 if you want a laptop-like experience.
iPad Air 2024: Outlook
The iPad Air doesn't offer huge upgrades like the new iPad Pro, but it does look like a great value pick for those who are looking for Pro-like performance for a lower price. We're most excited about the new larger 13-inch model. Stay tuned for our full review.
