Caitlin Clark is in a league of her own.
The Iowa superstar achieved some jaw-dropping history on Sunday during the Hawkeyes’ Elite Eight tilt against Louisville.
Clark, who piled in 15 of Iowa's 25 first-quarter points while adding four assists, became the first Division I basketball player in NCAA history to record 900+ points and 300+ assists in a single season. No other player in men's or women's Division I NCAA basketball history has achieved the feat, according to The Sporting News.
The junior guard enjoyed yet another sensational season for Iowa in 2022-23, averaging 26.9 points (third in the country), 7.2 rebounds, and a nation-leading 8.5 assists per game.
Her strong play has continued into the NCAA tournament, where she's recorded two double-doubles in three games, as well as a 31-point game against Colorado which helped the Hawkeyes clinch a spot in the Elite Eight.
Now, after a strong first quarter against the Cardinals, Clark stands alone in Division I basketball history, having achieved an accomplishment no man or woman has done before her.
While she'll be more focused on getting Iowa into the Final Four, the individual accolade is more than worthy of being spotlighted as the 21-year-old cements herself as one of the greatest college basketball players of all time.
