Law enforcement sources have revealed that investigators are examining video footage showing three men and a woman who are believed to have been involved in placing suspected improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Additionally, writings found at the scene have led the FBI to suspect that the attack may have been inspired by ISIS.
The FBI, leading the investigation, has confirmed the discovery of potential IEDs in the area, along with weapons and explosive devices found in a vehicle. Sources have indicated that one of the locations where the IEDs were found was further down Bourbon Street, the site of the attack.
During a news conference, the FBI stated that they do not believe the primary suspect, identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar from Texas, acted alone in carrying out the attack. The incident is currently being treated as an act of terrorism, with investigators working diligently to uncover any potential ties between the suspect and terrorist organizations.
Notably, an ISIS flag was reportedly found in the vehicle linked to the suspect, further raising concerns about possible extremist connections. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities seek to piece together the events leading up to the suspected terrorist attack in New Orleans.
