The fire service are investigating a blaze which saw two people leap from a flat in East Kilbride.
Three fire engines along with several ambulances and police vehicles rushed to Denholm Green in The Murray yesterday afternoon with the road sealed off.
Police earlier confirmed two people were taken to hospital after jumping from a flat.
Specialist officers are now working to try and establish the exact cause of the fire.
Reports locally have suggested "a woman and a child jumped from the second or third floor."
One shocked neighbour told Lanarkshire Live : "I only saw the aftermath with emergency services everywhere and the road taped off.
"We believe a woman and child jumped after a fire broke out. It's just awful."
Another said: "I came home early from work to see lots fire engines and police. I couldn't believe it."
Reports on social media also suggest the fire started in a ground-floor flat in the block - with visible smoke/fire damage on the front door of a property when Lanarkshire Live attended the scene today.
