An investigation is underway into an alleged sexual assault at the Australian Grand Prix earlier this month.
In a statement, Victoria Police confirmed Bayside Sex Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives are investigating an incident that allegedly took place at about 5.45 pm on Saturday, 15 March.
It’s understood a teenage girl was attending the racing event at Albert Park when she was sexually assaulted by an unknown man.

On Thursday, investigators released an image of a man they wished to speak with in connection to the incident, but it has now been taken down, with authorities clarifying images will be taken down when a person of interest has been identified.
The investigation remains ongoing.
An Australian Grand Prix spokesperson told 9News the organisation is “assisting Victoria Police with their investigation and will not be providing any further comment”.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or with information, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
