Police have launched an investigation after a woman was bitten on the leg by a dog in the Easington area of County Durham.
The shocking incident happened outside the Co-op on Seaside Lane shortly before 11.25am on Wednesday morning.
The woman received hospital treatment for the injuries sustained during the incident.
The dog involved in the attack is believed to be a Pitbull type.

A spokeswoman for Durham Constabulary said: "Officers are investigating after a woman was bitten on the leg by a dog in Easington yesterday."
"The incident happened outside the Co-op on Seaside Lane shortly before 11.25am and is believed to have involved a Pitbull type dog."
"The woman received hospital treatment for the injuries sustained during the incident."
