AN investigation is underway after a Scottish man was arrested in Florida.
Police Scotland were notified on Tuesday, August 29 that a 35-year-old man had been arrested at Melbourne International Airport after it is alleged he was found to be in possession of indecent images of children.
A force spokesperson said officers are liaising with US authorities and an investigation is ongoing into any offences which may have been committed in Scotland.
They said enquiries are at an early stage.
Reports suggest the man is from Glasgow.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "On Tuesday, August 29, 2023, Police Scotland was notified of the arrest of a 35-year-old man from Scotland at Melbourne International Airport, Florida, USA, after he was found to be in possession of indecent images of children.
"We are liaising closely with American authorities and making enquiries into any offences which may have been committed in Scotland.
"Enquiries are at an early stage."
