An investigation is underway after a man was 'found in the middle of the road' with serious head injuries in Trafford.
Officers were called to the scene on Chassen Road in Flixton at around 1.15am this morning (Wednesday). They were initially alerted to a 'concern for the welfare of a man'.
They found a man with serious head injuries in the road. He was rushed to hospital from the scene, where he remains in a serious condition.

Greater Manchester Police have now launched an investigation into the incident. They are looking into how the man suffered his injuries.
A cordon remains in place on Chassen Road this morning, with the road taped off from Balmoral Road to Shawe Road. Pictures taken earlier showed officers stationed at the scene.
Chassen Road train station has also been closed this morning. There is no access for passengers as the station sits within the area that has been taped off.
No Northern services are running between Irlam and Urmston. In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "We were called at 1.15am to a report of concern for the welfare of a man on Chassen Road, Flixton. Officers attended and a man was found with serious head injuries in the middle of the road.
"He has been taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition. Enquiries are ongoing into how the man suffered his injuries.
