Investigation launched after 'three intruders' burst into local Co-op

An investigation has been launched after 'three intruders' burst into a local Co-op while staff were working inside.

The incident happened at the shop on Castle Street in Edgeley, Stockport, just after 8.30pm last night (Monday).

The suspects burst inside in what the M.E.N understands was an attempted robbery.

No-one was hurt in the incident, a spokesperson for Co-op said.

"Fortunately, no one was hurt.

"We appeal for anyone who may have seen or heard anything to come forward to police, who are investigating.
