An investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed in Gateshead.
Officers from Northumbria Police attended the scene of the incident just after 4.30pm on Saturday (April 16) following reports of a stabbing on Durham Road. A man was found to have been wounded in an attack and was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A police investigation into the incident is now underway with officers searching for two suspects in connection with the stabbing. Officers remained at the scene on Sunday morning as enquiries continued.

A spokesman for the force said: "We were called to Durham Road in Gateshead, just after 4.30pm following reports of a male who had been stabbed. The male victim has been taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries and our investigations are underway into the incident."
He added that the victim reported that two people were allegedly involved in the incident. No arrests have been made as yet and the enquiries into their whereabouts are ongoing.
He added: "At the time of the incident, the victim stated that he was attacked by two persons and enquiries are ongoing to locate them."
