Gardai have launched an investigation after an equestrian centre at the centre of plans to house Ukrainian refugees in Co Kildare went on fire last night.
Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene of a blaze in a shed at the rear of the Kill Equestrian Centre shortly after 8pm on Sunday night. It comes as plans are being discussed to use the facility to house Ukrainian refugees.
A protest against the plans was held by locals outside the centre earlier in the day, which gardai say passed off without any incident. Fortunately, the blaze was quickly brought under control by firefighters and no injuries were reported.
