An investigation is under way after an arson attack in County Durham.
At around 7.30pm on Monday, police and fire crews responded to a blaze which had been deliberately started in a field near Lord Byrons Walk, Seaham. Firefighters worked to tackle the flames using beaters and left the scene shortly after.
The incident is being treated as arson and anyone with any information is urged to come forward. An investigation is now underway to find those responsible.

A County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Reports of a fire in a field near Lord Byrons Walk, Seaham came into CDDFRS control at 19:20 on Monday, 11 July. Crews from Seaham attended and have worked to tackle the fire using beaters.
"The fire is suspected to be deliberately set. Crews left the scene at 19:45. Police were in attendance.

A spokeswoman for Durham Constabulary said: 'Police were called at 7.40pm on Monday (July 11) to reports of a field on fire near Lord Byron’s Walk, in Seaham.'
'The incident is being treated as arson and an investigation has been launched.'
