A WOMAN was left stunned when she was charged more than £900 for petrol, after only paying for £69.66 worth.
Rachael Buckett now has to wait for the transactions to "reverse" after the purchase at a Tesco store in the Inshes area of Inverness on Sunday saw the same purchase appear 13 times.
After seeing the charges come off, the 54-year-old was shocked and quickly called the supermarket giant, who informed her it was an issue with her credit card provider.
Rachael said: “We’ve been left in the lurch a bit and I’ve made a complaint with the credit card provider.
“When I phoned them, they said it wouldn’t clear for seven days but I don’t want it sitting there. They have managed to reverse two.”
Although the transactions all appear as "pending", they still eat into the balance on the card and stop her from using it anymore.

She added: “We normally only use the credit card to 30% but now it’s nearly maxed out.
“Thankfully we have some financial security, but someone else wouldn’t have this and they would be left stuck.”
The credit card company has been contacted for comment.
