Internet Explorer is shutting down after 27 years.
The classic web browser was introduced in 1995 as the built-in browser for Windows 95.
But Microsoft has said that the Internet Explorer 11 desktop application has ended support for certain operating systems.
Internet users have taken to social media to celebrate and commiserate the web browser’s collapse.
One Twitter user joked “not internet explorer joining the 27 club” referring to the number of celebrities who died at the age of 27, including Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse.
