International Women’s Day: Katie Piper and Jade Jones among inspirational figures joining Amazon’s Alexa

Inspiring women including author and philanthropist Katie Piper and Olympian Jade Jones are lending their voices to Amazon’s Alexa this week.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, Amazon Echo and Fire TV customers can say “Alexa, who inspires you?” to hear words of wisdom from a diverse group of empowering women.

Amazon is supporting this year’s #BreakTheBias theme by partnering with the Prince’s Trust’s “Change a Girls Life” campaign.

Maisie Summers Newton, the Paralympic swimming champion, who is also taking part, said “As an advocate for those with disabilities, it encourages me to know that I can now inspire the women around me regardless of their conditions.

“The support of Prince’s Trust can play such an important role in helping to facilitate change and provide opportunities.”

Artist Sophie Tea is also sharing advice via Alexa.

“This year’s theme for International Women’s Day, #Breakthebias, is such a timely reminder for all women,” she said.

“It’s super important to me as a female artist that we kick down doors and shout about our successes in what sometimes may feel like a very elitist industry.

“So, it’s amazing to be a part of something which will empower and inspire women around the world on International Women’s Day and beyond.”
