The City and County of Los Angeles have been overwhelmed by an outpouring of support from communities worldwide as they battle the devastating wildfires raging across Southern California. Los Angeles City Fire Chief Kristin Crowley expressed gratitude for the international assistance received, highlighting a meeting with partners from Mexico to convey appreciation for their help.
Chief Crowley described the support from near and far as remarkable, emphasizing the collaborative efforts being made to combat the fires. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection Director Joe Tyler revealed that over 15,000 first responders are currently engaged in firefighting operations in the region.
These first responders hail from various parts of California, as well as from the West, Midwest, and central United States, in addition to contributions from Canada and Mexico. The combined efforts of these dedicated individuals are crucial in containing and extinguishing the wildfires that continue to pose a significant threat to the region.
