International law firm DAC Beachcroft appoints Bristol office head

International law firm DAC Beachcroft has named a new location head at its Bristol office.

Ben Daniels will take over the role from Charlie Bending, serving a three-year term effective from June 2023.

Mr Daniels is a member of the firm's LLP Group Board as well being a commercial litigation partner and the development head of the Professional and Commercial Risk group in Bristol. He joined the firm in 2008 and has over 20 years’ experience advising clients across a range of sectors, with a particular interest in retail financial services.

DACB’s Bristol office at Portwall Place is the home office for over 800 employees and is the largest office within the firm's global network of 11 UK and ten international offices. All of DACB's main practice areas are represented in Bristol, including its main sector focuses - Insurance, Health, Real Estate and Business Advisory.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Daniels said, “I am honoured to have the opportunity to lead a great team of people in an office which is one of the largest professional services employers in the city. During the next three years, in addition to focusing on talent, we need to continue to deliver exceptional service for our clients. Although our clients tend to be national and international organisations, there is more that we can do to develop our work in the South West region and to contribute to the success of our clients in the local community."

In Bristol, DACB supports various initiatives through volunteer and ESG work, including The Mazi Project, Elderly Lunch Club, Parsons Street Primary School and Love to Ride. Last year, the office was also named 'Innovators of the Year' at the Bristol Law Society Awards.

DACB's senior partner, Virginia Clegg, added, "I want to thank Charlie Bending for his exceptional leadership over the last three years. He played a key role in guiding our Bristol office through the challenges of the pandemic and has contributed significantly to building our strong reputation in the South West.

"Our Bristol office continues to go from strength to strength, and I am thrilled to welcome Ben as new Bristol location head. His leadership will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success of the office."
