Internacional president Alessandro Barcellos has once again expressed his club’s determination to secure a deal for Celtic defender Alexandro Bernabei.
Despite the Argentine’s limited opportunities in Glasgow, his performances during a loan spell with the Brazilian side have clearly made an impression.
Bernabei, who has recently been named the best left-back in the Brazilian top-flight, remains a key long-term target for Internacional.
Barcellos is reportedly optimistic about reaching a new agreement, whether that be another loan deal or a permanent transfer.
The 23-year-old’s future at Celtic appears uncertain, with Internacional refusing to back down in their efforts to keep him to Brazil. Negotiations are expected to continue as the January transfer window approaches.
Bernabei is currently contracted to the Scottish Premiership champions until May 2027.

Barcellos told Radio Gaucha: “It depends on the Scottish club's interest.
“It may be a new lending [loan] or a price that we can pay.
“It is a worthy investment to pay for a loan. In the first loan, the price was low.”
