Jurgen Klopp explains why Luis Diaz did not play for Liverpool against Burnley
Jurgen Klopp has outlined why he chose to leave Luis Diaz on the bench against Burnley on Sunday.
The Liverpool boss opted for a front three of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane - with the latter being a late inclusion following Diogo Jota suffering a dead leg.
Despite Diaz impressing in his first start for the Reds against Leicester last week, the new signing remained on the bench as the team grinded out a 1-0 win at Turf Moor.
Instead, Jota replaced Mane midway through the second-half and Klopp has explained his decision to leave the £49m man on the sidelines.

Inter Milan suffer blow before Liverpool Champions League clash
Inter Milan’s confidence has been dented ahead of their clash with Liverpool on Wednesday in the Champions League.
The two teams meet in the round of 16 as European competition resumes this week, with Jurgen Klopp’s side travelling to the San Siro for the first leg of the tie.
However Simone Inzaghi’s Inter missed a chance to head into the clash as league leaders in Serie A after a disappointing result at the weekend.
The reigning Italian champions fell from top spot after they were held to a 1-1 draw with Napoli on Saturday, with bitter rivals AC Milan taking their place.
