Inter Milan make January transfer 'decision' over Nottingham Forest target

Nottingham Forest target Martin Satriano is said to be poised to sign on loan for Brest for the second half of the season.

The Reds have been eyeing up the Inter Milan youngster, although potentially as one for the longer term rather than necessarily just for the January window.

French outlet L’Equipe report he is now set to join Brest on loan, "without a purchase option" for the Ligue 1 club.

The 22-year-old striker has made four appearances in Serie A this term, all of them coming from off the substitutes’ bench.

Satriano made his debut in the Italian league when he played the final 14 minutes of a 4-0 home victory over Genoa.

He most recently featured on December 12, when Cagliari were beaten by the same scoreline.

The Uruguayan came up through the ranks at Nacional, in his homeland, before signing a four-and-a-half-year deal with Inter in January 2020.

Forest have already brought in front man Keinan Davis this month, on loan from Aston Villa, and he has quickly made a positive impression in the Garibaldi.

He is one of three January signings head coach Steve Cooper has added to his ranks so far, along with defender Steve Cook and full-back Richie Laryea.

But the Reds boss hasn’t ruled out further attacking reinforcements, with wingers Jed Wallace and Josh Bowler believed to be on the club’s radar.

Asked whether any further business was close to being done, Cooper said after Saturday’s 1-0 win over Millwall: “I hope so, but we’ll see.

“There are no guarantees on anything. We’ll wait and see.

“If it is, great. If not, as I always say, I’ll only ever focus on and talk about the players that I’m working with every single day. That will always be where my allegiance lies."
