Inter Milan fans descend on Liverpool city centre ahead of Champions League clash

Inter Milan fans have descended on the city centre ahead of tonight's match against Liverpool FC.

The Reds will take on Inter Milan in the Champions League at Anfield on Tuesday, with Klopp's side boasting a 2-0 lead from the first leg.

Earlier today, Inter Milan fans were pictured on Mathew Street posing next to the John Lennon statue and seemed in good spirts with their scarves and souvenirs.

Inter Milan had a fully fit squad from which to select their team to face Liverpool this evening.

Boss Simone Inzaghi said the only absentees from his squad are Nicolo Barella, who is suspended, and Aleksandar Kolarov, who isn’t even in their Champions League squad.

It would appear Joaquin Correa and Robin Gosens are back fit and available to face Liverpool this evening.

Jurgen Klopp has been speaking about this being a 'glamour tie' of the Champions League in his pre-match programme notes.

He said: "What a fixture, hey? Even saying it out loud makes you excited. Liverpool versus Internazionale in the European Cup.

"What makes it better is we face each other in a moment when we are both proper forces in the game. This is to sound arrogant about ourselves, by the way.

"I just think the current standings and performances of recent seasons makes this true. For Inter, it is absolutely the case also. They are the real deal.

"They are a proper contender for this title. What a job Simone is doing with this club. [They are the] current champions of Italy, near the top of Serie A again and looking very strong.

"We watched their match on Friday night in the teal hotel ahead of our own game against West Ham. I don't see many weaknesses in them if I am being honest.

"From front to back they have top-quality players, organised superbly well. A clear plan, a clear idea."

Kick off is at 8pm at Anfield.
