Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic - in a deal that could involve Roberto Firmino or Naby Keita going the other way.
The Reds have been quiet in the transfer window since the arrival of third signing of the summer Calvin Ramsay. But speculation has refused to go away about them buying another midfielder. That only heightened after Thiago went off injured in the 2-2 draw in the Premier League opener at Fulham on Saturday.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, who is also without Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain through injury, said after that match that he still believes has 'enough midfielders'. But a report from Italy suggests he could be interested in Croatia international Brozovic.
And according to Calciomercatoweb, if the Reds follow up their supposed interest in Brozovic, Inter Milan could ask for fellow midfielder Keita or forward Firmino in return.
Firmino has one year remaining on his contract at Anfield and it remains unclear as to whether he will be handed a new deal or sign one. It But the Brazilian international has expressed his desire to stay at the club while the ECHO understands that Liverpool have no intention of offloading him this window.
Keita, like Firmino, is also out of contract next summer.
