Inter Milan confirm Benjamin Pavard transfer plan amid Arsenal ‘hijack’ rumours

Inter Milan are interested in a deal for rumoured Arsenal target Benjamin Pavard, coach Simone Inzaghi has confirmed.

The Gunners have been tipped to bid for the Bayern Munich defender after losing Jurrien Timber to a long-term injury, with Joao Cancelo another possible target named in reports.

However, they would face competition in such a move with Inter and Manchester United also said to be keen.

Nerazzurri boss Inzaghi has confirmed his interest in Pavard, following talk of a bid worth £21.5million being knocked back.

“He’s a target, I won't deny it,” Inzaghi told reporters. “But I don't feel like talking about players from other teams.

“We don’t have a very large squad and we need an important player in that position.

“[Matteo] Darmian should be complimented for what he's done at Inter, but in all positions I need competition.”

United have been linked with Pavard over a number of transfer windows but reportedly need to shift Harry Maguire to open up space for the 27-year-old, following the collapse of his move to West Ham.
