Inter chief confirms Simone Inzaghi decision amid Tottenham new manager links

Simone Inzaghi will be staying at Inter for the new season despite talk of interest from Tottenham.

Nerazzurri CEO Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed the club’s decision after Inzaghi led the Italian club to the Champions League and Coppa Italia finals, the cup competition he led Inter to victory in last year.

“We never thought, not even for a second this year, of replacing Inzaghi,” he affirmed to Rai Italia.

“He has managed to strengthen his position thanks to the team’s performances, which are obviously the result of his guidance.

“His confirmation, speaking in percentage terms, is 100 per cent. He is and will be our coach again next year.”

Spurs were briefly linked with Inzaghi, 47, in the Italian media as they continue their search for a new manager.

Standard Sport understand Feyenoord boss Arne Slot is interested in discussing the role having led the Dutch club to the Eredivisie title this season.

Former Barcelona coach Luis Enrique has held talks with Tottenham and remains of interest alongside Ange Postecoglou of Celtic and Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim.

Caretaker manager Ryan Mason will lead the team for their final game of the season, at Leeds on Sunday, as they look to secure qualification to next season’s Europa Conference League.
