'Intense' dry shampoo trick for 'really greasy' hair days is hairdresser approved

Say goodbye to greasy hair as it turns out you can freshen up your locks in minutes without needing to wash your hair.

The helpful advice, perfect for days when you're in a rush, almost sounds too good to be true. But the 'intense' method comes with the backing of a celebrity hairstylist.

In even better news, the pro shared step-by-step instructions for anyone using the trick for the first time.

Recommended by Tom Smith, the hair guru revealed the trick on TikTok, where he regularly shares his expertise on hair health and trend forecasting.

In a video devoted to dry shampoo hacks, Tom explained: "For hair that's gotten really, really greasy and you just haven't got time to wash it, here's a really intense way of getting dry shampoo to cleanse your hair.

"Spray a lot of dry shampoo through any oily areas. Don't worry if it looks powdery, you're going to deal with that in a second. Once you've sprayed it through, leave it for two minutes - that's going to give the particles in the dry shampoo time to absorb the oils out of your hair and scalp.

"Then use a hairdryer on a cold setting and a gentle brush, and literally blow and brush out all those powder particles.

"The powder particles have absorbed the oil and now you're blowing them out of your hair, literally dry cleaning your hair."

In response, viewers were quick to thank the expert for the advice.

"Thank you for the tip... just tried this and it turned out beautifully!!" read one reply.

"Yes!! We had no hot water and I needed to wash my hair before work... this saved me!" said a second.

Meanwhile, another person revealed: "I usually put my dry shampoo in the night before.. I get 4-5 days of no washing."

A different commenter asked: "What about that heavy feeling you get with dirty hair?" The expert replied: "Blowing the particles out can help but nothing will replace an actual shampoo!"
