The Oregon home of SAIF Corporation CEO Chip Terhune was struck by gunfire in what authorities are calling a "targeted" shooting attack, followed by a threatening email referencing the incident.

The attack took place between 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. February 21, in Lake Oswego, Oregon, when an unknown suspect fired multiple rounds into Terhune's residence, according to Lake Oswego Police.

The shooting caused minor damage but left no injuries. Shortly after, Terhune and his company received an email from someone claiming responsibility, containing vague threats and references to employees' relatives, Oregon Live reported.

On Wednesday, police released a blurry surveillance image of the suspect, who was dressed in dark clothing, possibly wearing a hoodie or ski mask, and was seen near a parked vehicle.

While the motive remains unclear, authorities are treating the attack as a "targeted" act against Terhune. In internal emails to employees obtained by Oregon Live, Terhune urged vigilance and cooperation with law enforcement, noting that the threatening email contained inaccurate information about staff and their families.

Police have set up a tip line and an anonymous reporting system for potential witnesses. Meanwhile, SAIF Corporation employees have been advised to stay alert as security concerns remain high.
